Weekly Dump, V I haven't been posting my dumps here any more. I worry that I'm boring y'all to hell ;) So I'll try to stick to more infrequent postings of the better stuff. I also figured I'd give them names. I'm lame like that. Hitchhiker's guide to the mountains Nobody and Noone vs. the Cyclopes Larger version available if you click it Not so happy with the Cyclopes, but fairly happy with the two characters ;) Plus, they finally have names! Nobody loves Noone Cliche vampire is cliche Blue synth Anyway. 2 Comments: DranoK posted the following: Meh, I keep the names as rand because I have this idea that once I get to 500 or so they'll start being somewhat decent ;) Some of those filenames are a bit long, although I have been considering making a better gallery front-end at some point. I'd consider different names, then. As always thanks for your in-depth comments ^_^

Ratha posted the following:
These pictures clearly show that you have developed your own rather unique style, and id be rather surprised if there were not quite a few people following your work. Its rather strange that none of them ever seem to say anything though considering that anonymous users can comment.
Looking at you as an artist, even if your artwork isnt of my favorite styling or content, i find that your art seems to be by far better than a lot of stuff i see posted elsewhere online. However that being said, said other people tend to get significantly more commenting. Perhaps worse than the lack of comments, is that you dont seemingly even get anyone trolling your artwork. Its just not getting much exposure, which really is too bad cause im sure there would be a lot of people out there who like your style and would be interested in giving you lots of ideas, feedback, and criticisms.
A few suggestions: Would ya mind including your screen-name in front of the filename? (DranoK-rand52e) One complaint i have when visiting a site and downloading images is that i have to manually rename pictures all the time to include the artist's name or website so that if for any reason later i want to view all of their work that ive saved, i can with a simple windows file search. Ive got pictures by artists who i cant locate, and it annoys me whenever i go back and look at em cause i want to grab more of their stuff, but i dont know their name or the website i got em from originally.
Without the proper naming they just get lost in the folder of 12,000 plus images. Some sites have "[UniqueNumber].[Uploader].[FileName].png" naming scheme, but i think that pictures should be "[Uploader].[FileName + PictureTitle].[WebsiteAbbreviation].[UniqueNumber].png"
My order of preference for file naming schemes ive witnessed.

You could probably easily write a script to do all of that for ya on upload. The unique number in your case wouldnt be needed since you put it in the filename. But with it included one could easily sort and see how you have progressed if you were to view a slideshow of all you had drawn. (Something i like to do with some artists anyway.)
Might i also suggest a change in the title to include both the word "art" and potentially the date of the dump? "Weekly Art Dump # [Date]"
